Coco brings zero-emission autonomous deliveries to The Heights neighborhood, supporting local commerce and reducing congestion as part of urban innovation strategy
JERSEY CITY, N.J., January 14, 2026 — Coco Robotics, the world’s leading urban robot delivery platform, today announced the launch of a city-supported autonomous delivery pilot in Jersey City. Operating in The Heights neighborhood in close coordination with city stakeholders and local restaurants and merchants, the pilot marks Coco’s first zero-emission deliveries in the city and a major step in the company’s broader expansion strategy.
This expansion comes at a time of growing regional interest in urban innovation. Steven Fulop, Mayor of Jersey City and incoming CEO of the Partnership for New York City, emphasized the broader opportunity presented by this pilot initiative.
“Autonomous delivery is a natural evolution of how cities can support local businesses,” said Fulop. “By helping merchants fulfill orders efficiently and safely, these robots can boost their bottom line. They’re also built to navigate busy urban streets and operate reliably, even in harsh weather. It’s exciting to see Jersey City leading the way in showing what modern, sustainable cities can look like.”
The pilot reflects a growing collaboration between the city and innovative technology companies to enhance local commerce and improve the delivery experience for consumers. Coco’s deployment in The Heights will allow the company to demonstrate how autonomous delivery can operate safely and efficiently in bustling neighborhoods, while also gathering feedback from the community to guide future expansion.
“Walkable neighborhoods like those throughout Jersey City are exactly where autonomous delivery makes the most sense,” said Zach Rash, Co-Founder and CEO of Coco Robotics. “Our robots move goods without adding another 4,000 pound car to busy streets. They’re also far more efficient, and inherently safer, while helping reduce traffic, parking congestion and emissions. That efficiency allows us to make local deliveries more affordable for both merchants and residents, and provides a more practical way to move goods around dense urban neighborhoods.”
The launch builds on Coco’s growing footprint, with over 500,000 zero-emission deliveries completed across major U.S. and international cities, including Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and Helsinki. Coco’s AI-powered robots are helping restaurants and merchants of all types scale operations and improve delivery speed, while also lowering environmental impact and easing congestion in the cities they serve.
