26 March 2026 TURKU | Wolt will introduce robot deliveries to central Turku in spring 2026 in partnership with US-based robotics logistics company Coco. Following Helsinki, Turku will be the second city in Finland where robots deliver not only grocery orders but also restaurant meals to customers.
Around ten delivery robots will begin operating in Turku, covering the city center within a radius of a few kilometers. The robots will take to the streets during March, with the first customer deliveries scheduled for 26 March. Operations will gradually expand and delivery volumes increase as the spring progresses.
“Many everyday services in Turku are within walking distance, and the same logic applies to robot deliveries. Over short distances, robots provide a fast and low-emission way to deliver orders directly to customers. They complement our delivery network and offer a new, low-emission option for short-distance deliveries,” says Patricia Nsombo, who is responsible for Wolt’s robot operations.
Customers can choose robot delivery in the Wolt app if both the order and delivery address are within the operating area. Deliveries can be tracked in real time via the app, and the robot’s compartment is unlocked through the Wolt app. Robot deliveries are available from partners such as Portsan Kukka, lunch restaurant Metropoli, and Lone Star. In addition, robots deliver orders from Wolt’s own online grocery store, Wolt Market.
Coco’s robots have completed more than 500,000 deliveries across cities in the United States and Europe.
“Building on the strong results and positive customer feedback in Helsinki, expanding to Turku is a natural next step for us,” says Viola Elenius, Country Manager of Coco Finland.
“Turku’s compact city centre is ideally suited for robot deliveries. Together with Wolt, we are excited to offer more customers a fast, reliable, and low-emission delivery option.”
